What is the biblical meaning of friendship?

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24)

The Bible says, "A man that have friends must show himself friendly". Some are too busy to form friendships. There is great value in friendship. The bible says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: (Ecc 4:9). True friendship is one of the great gifts of life. Some people doesn't know how to keep a good friendship. Like the bible says, a good friend can stick closer to you then your own blood. There are some people that are not desired to be friends. You may want to be friend with them, but they may not want to be friend with you. Because you force them too, they became your friend, but it's not from the heart. The bible said: "Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, (Proverbs 22:24)

Friendship is not using someone to get what you want. If you only hear from someone when they want something, they are not a friend. A good friend does not encourage you to do wrong, but right and pursue it. "Jesus gave us the real definition of a true friend in the book of John. "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (John 15:13-15). Jesus is the pure example of a true friend for He laid down His life for His "friends." What is more, "who so ever will" may become His friend by trusting in Him as their personal savior, being born again and receiving new life in Him.
